Objective
 |
Assist
land owners and extension officials in agroforestry planning and
decision making by developing an on-line applications for site
information access and tree/shrub selection and evaluation. |
 |
Easy
and friendly access to GIS data and tree species database. |
Subtropical Tree/Shrub
Database
 |
CSTAF
is currently compiling and developing a tree and shrub database for
agroforestry in the subtropics. We are starting out with Florida
spp. and will be continuously expanding or geographic scope.
|
 |
The
Subtropical tree and shrub DB contains information on plant
descriptions, ecology and site adaptability, management and
propagation and economic and environmental uses of the species.
Moreover, one can access text descriptions for many of the species
plus view photos! |
Southeast Agroforestry
DSS (SEADSS)
 |
Too
often landowners, extension agents and natural resource practitioners
need specific geographical information for planning and
management. CSTAF is developing access to an online GIS to
obtain valuable information on soils, vegetation, land use, property
information and others. SEADSS is being developed at the county
level, starting out with Florida. |
 |
Need
to know what you can plant at a specific site? Need to decide on
the ideal agroforestry spp. for your site and purposes? SEADSS
links a tree and shrub database to select trees and/or shrubs suitable
to your specific site and agroforestry management and production
needs. |
 |
SEADSS
is continually under development and different counties will be
periodically added. You can check it out at SEADSS. |
