A CSTAF-funded field course in organic farming and
agroforestry at the University of Georgia this summer provided
an opportunity for hands-on learning for 18 students.
A key component of
CSTAF’s mission is to provide a network of sites, known as
Southeastern Agroforestry Network of Demonstration Sites
(SANDS), where agroforestry is in use to the benefit of the
landowner.
CSTAF continued its training sessions this year
with three in-service workshops in Florida and Georgia for
extension agents, educators and landowners.
The workshops were conducted in March, one in
Gainesville, Fla., one in Quincy, Fla., and one in Tifton,
Ga.
